Terms of Service

Publisher: OsamByte

Effective Date: July 23, 2026

Version: 2.0+

These Terms of Service ("Terms", "Agreement") constitute a legally binding agreement between OsamByte ("we," "our," or "us"), operating CampusNave, and the educational institutions, administrators, teachers, staff, students, and parents ("you," "user," or "School") accessing or using our school management software platform, mobile applications, and web services (collectively, the "Service").

By registering an institution, accessing our web portal, logging into the CampusNave mobile application, or using any feature of the platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms and our accompanying Privacy Policy.

1. Service Overview & Platform Architecture

CampusNave is a cloud-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) School Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform. The Service includes administrative control dashboards, academic management tools, attendance tracking systems, fee voucher generation, payroll compilation, grading engines, and mobile applications for Android and iOS devices.

CampusNave is provided on a business-to-business (B2B) institutional subscription model to schools, colleges, academies, and multi-branch educational networks.

2. Account Provisioning, Credentials & Access Roles

A. School-Managed Account Creation

Individual students, parents, and teachers do not independently self-register accounts on CampusNave. All user accounts (student logins, teacher credentials, staff accounts, and branch admin profiles) are provisioned directly by the contracting Educational Institution (School).

B. Account Security & Credential Protection

Users are provided login credentials (usernames and default passwords) by their school administrator. Users must update initial default passwords upon first login where prompted (`hasChangedPassword`). Users are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their credentials and for all activities that occur under their account. You must notify your school administrator immediately of any unauthorized account access.

C. Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) & Context Switching

Access privileges are determined strictly by system roles (`SUPER_ADMIN`, `ADMIN`, `TEACHER`, `STUDENT`). Teachers with administrative assignments may switch active roles (`TEACHER` / `ADMIN`), and parents with multiple enrolled children may switch sibling profiles (`siblings`) as permitted by backend authorization logic. Attempting to bypass role permissions or access unauthorized branch data is a violation of these Terms.

3. School & Institutional Responsibilities

As a contracting educational institution using CampusNave, the School represents and warrants that:

  • Authorization & Consent: The School has obtained all necessary statutory approvals, parental consent, and legal authorizations to record and process student information, guardian contacts, staff records, and National ID numbers (CNIC / B-Form) in CampusNave.
  • Data Accuracy: The School is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of student admission records, class assignments, fee structures, exam marks, and staff payroll calculations.
  • User Account Management: The School administrator is responsible for promptly deactivating accounts (`isActive: false`) when students graduate, transfer, or when staff members resign.
  • Lawful Use: The School agrees to use the platform in full compliance with local educational regulations and laws of Pakistan.

4. Geofence Attendance & Anti-Tampering Rules

CampusNave incorporates circular GPS Geofence verification for teacher self check-in and check-out (`TeacherAttendancePunch`).

  • Location Verification: Location data (`latitude`, `longitude`, `accuracyMeters`) is captured strictly at the instant an attendance punch button is pressed to verify physical presence within the school perimeter (`radiusMeters`).
  • Anti-Spoofing & Integrity: Any attempt to use mock locations, GPS spoofing applications, automated punch bots, or replay attacks (`nonceId` validation) to falsify attendance records is strictly prohibited. Suspicious attempts are automatically flagged for administrator review (`riskFlags`, `riskScore`).

5. Subscriptions, Invoicing & Payment Terms

  • Subscription Billing: Access to CampusNave is provided under recurring subscription plans (monthly or annual cycles) invoiced in Pakistani Rupees (PKR) based on student enrollment capacity or custom contract agreements.
  • Payment Obligations: Invoices are payable within the timeframe specified on the service invoice. Non-payment or overdue balances may result in temporary suspension of school access (`school.isActive = false`).
  • Non-Refundable: All subscription fees paid to OsamByte are non-refundable, except as explicitly required by law or specified in a written enterprise Service Level Agreement (SLA).
  • Fee Adjustments: OsamByte reserves the right to modify subscription rates upon at least thirty (30) days' advance written notice prior to subscription renewal.

6. Data Ownership & Intellectual Property Rights

A. School Data Ownership

The contracting School retains 100% full ownership of all institutional data, student profiles, academic records, fee transactions, payroll logs, and uploaded files entered into the Service. OsamByte claims no proprietary rights over school-owned data.

B. Platform Intellectual Property

CampusNave, including its software code, GraphQL schemas, database designs, user interface layouts, logos, branding, documentation, and technical algorithms, is the exclusive intellectual property of OsamByte. Except for the limited, non-exclusive license granted to use the Service during an active subscription, no rights are transferred to the School or its end users.

7. Acceptable Use & Prohibited Conduct

You agree that you will not, under any circumstances:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, backend GraphQL resolvers, database instances, or network systems connected to CampusNave.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or extract source code from the mobile applications or web platforms.
  • Perform web scraping, data harvesting, or automated querying without prior written authorization from OsamByte.
  • Use the platform to store or transmit malware, viruses, harmful code, or illegal content.
  • Interfere with or disrupt platform performance, server infrastructure, or rate-limiting measures (`express-rate-limit`).
  • Falsify academic grades, attendance records, or financial transaction logs.

8. Third-Party Services & Dependencies

CampusNave integrates third-party cloud infrastructure services to deliver core capabilities, including Expo Push Notifications (`expo-server-sdk`), Leaflet / OpenStreetMap mapping, Render and Netlify hosting, Resend Email API, and MongoDB Atlas database hosting.

OsamByte is not responsible for transient outages, network disruptions, or service modifications caused by third-party infrastructure providers or telecom network failures in Pakistan.

9. Service Availability, Backups & Maintenance

While we strive to maintain high availability (targeting 99.9% uptime), CampusNave is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We perform routine system updates, security patches, and automated database backups. Scheduled maintenance windows will be communicated to school administrators in advance where feasible.

10. Account Suspension, Termination & Data Purge

A. Termination by School or OsamByte

Either party may terminate a subscription agreement upon written notice in accordance with the service contract. OsamByte reserves the right to immediately suspend or terminate access if a School or user breaches these Terms or engages in unlawful activities.

B. Account Deletion Compliance (Google Play)

In compliance with Google Play Console Account Deletion policies, users may request deletion of their account credentials and personal data:

  • Individual users should submit deletion requests to their school administrator for account deactivation (`isActive: false`).
  • Users may also submit direct deletion requests to OsamByte at campusnave@gmail.com or via our privacy portal. OsamByte will process verified deletion requests within thirty (30) days in coordination with the contracting school, retaining only records required by legal audit mandates.

11. Limitation of Liability & Indemnification

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OsamByte, its directors, employees, and software engineers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages (including loss of data, operational downtime, or financial loss) arising from your use of or inability to use CampusNave.

The School agrees to indemnify and hold harmless OsamByte from any claims, damages, liabilities, or legal costs arising from the School's unauthorized use of data, failure to obtain parental consent, or breach of these Terms.

12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Any legal dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be settled through good-faith informal negotiations. If unresolved, disputes shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Islamabad, Pakistan.
